Life Drawing with Paul Olson
March 4 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
The Ishpeming Carnegie Public Library will once again hold its popular, free, “Life Drawing” class on Saturday mornings in February and March. The class was cancelled in 2021 and 2022 due to pandemic restrictions.
“Life drawing is the practice of drawing people and objects from observation,” said Paul Olson, the class instructor. “The tools of life drawing are typically very simple – just drawing pencils or charcoal and newsprint paper. Last year we had kids as young as 12 and senior citizens in the class. Because of its simplicity, this is a very accessible form of art.”
Basic drawing materials are provided, but students are welcome to bring their own. This is a “drop in” class—there is no registration. No experience is necessary. All models for the class will be volunteers from the community.
Intended for ages 12+. Held in the Ray Leverton Community Room.
